Step One

Pick your pot! Ensure your container has at least one hole at the bottom for drainage. If your chosen pot doesn’t have a hole, consider placing a handful of clay pebbles at the bottom to help ensure your soil isn’t sitting in a pool of water.

Step Two

Add a few scoops of bulb fibre at into your pot. We love Taylors peat free bulb fibre for improved growing. It contains a rich source of balanced nutrients to help establish roots and promote strong, vigorous growth.

Step Three

Place late flowering bulbs at the bottom of your pot and begin to cover them with 5cm (or so) of bulb fibre. Repeat this process with your mid and early flowering bulbs until you have three layers of bulbs.

Step Four

Once you’ve filled your pot with any remaining bulb fibre, give it a good water! This will kickstart your bulbs and wake them up for the growing season ahead.

Step Five

Top your pot off with some beautiful autumn bedding such as pansies, violas or cyclamen! This will give your container some colour throughout the winter months whilst your bulbs are working their magic beneath the surface.
